Employees are eligible for health insurance benefits on the first day of employment. Ventura currently offers multiple choices for health insurance through various insurance carriers. Our primary plans from UnitedHealthCare include: UHC UnitedHealthCare Choice Plus 500, UHC UnitedHealthCare Choice Plus 2000, UHC UnitedHealthCare Choice Plus 2500, UHC Choice Plus HDHP 1500 and UHC Choice Plus HDHP 5000. The Ventura Group, Inc. will pay for 60% of an employee’s and dependents’ premiums. The health insurance is a combined plan with medical and prescription. The PPO provides nationwide coverage. Additional State-specific plans are available to employees. The employee’s share will be deducted, pre-taxed, from paycheck.
Employees enrolled in any of our medical plans will be automatically enrolled into our Telemedicine Plan provided by OptumHealth Care24 at 866-715-3552 at no cost to the employee. This plan provides telephone, video and email consultation at no charge.
Employees are eligible to elect to enroll in offered dental plans: UnitedHealthCare Dental PPO 50. Employees may visit any provider they want, if you select a provider in the UHC PPO Network, employees will typically receive a higher level of benefit and save on out-of-pocket money. Employees do not have to participate in the medical insurance to be eligible to join. Our comprehensive plan covers Preventative, Basic, Major and Orthodontic types of dental services.
Ventura offers a Vision Plan, currently through VPS. The plan provides comprehensive vision coverage through a national and regional network of providers and reimbursement for services through a great network of vision providers.
If coverage is not elected upon employment, the next opportunity to enroll is during the open enrollment in November or immediately if there is a qualifying event (for example: termination of COBRA, divorce, birth of a child, etc.).
The company participates in a Medical Expense FSA and Dependent Care FSA, with maximum contributions based on the IRS regulations. These deductions are totally funded by employee and made on a pre-tax basis.
Ventura participates in a Health Savings Account (HSA), with maximum contributions based on the IRS regulations. These deductions are totally funded by employee and made on a pre-tax basis.
The company participates in a pre-tax Parking and Transit FSA commuter benefit plan for employees using mass transit or metro parking facilities to commute to work. The monthly amount is determined by IRS regulations.
To provide for deductible retirement savings, The Ventura Group, Inc. has a 401(k) Plan. Employees will be eligible to defer on the 1st of the month after hire date. Each employee will be able to access the Insperity website and enroll online. An employee may elect to defer compensation up to the maximum amount set by the government each year. The company will match up to 5% of the employee’s contribution vested immediately. We offer a variety of investment funds for regular or ROTH investments.
Eligible employees are also provided PTO for:
° Jury Duty: Full time employees receive pay for the first day of jury duty.
° Bereavement Leave: Full time employees are allowed up to three days paid leave for the death of a member of the immediate family.
Employees are eligible for tuition assistance immediately after hire. The maximum benefit is $1,500 per year.
The Ventura Group, Inc. provides Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services for employees and dependents at no cost to the employee.
On the 1st day of employment, each full-time employee will automatically be enrolled in the short-term and long-term disability plans through the company’s insurance carrier Cigna. The premiums are fully funded by Insperity. These benefits provide up to 60% of salaried income in the event of a qualifying disability.
The short-term disability plan provides a weekly benefit (up to $2,308/week max) beginning with the 15th day of an accident for a maximum of 24 weeks. Long-term disability begins 180 days after the onset of the disability. The benefit is equivalent to 60% of before tax monthly earnings not to exceed the plan’s maximum monthly benefit of $10,000.
In addition to the disability insurance, upon hire, each full-time employee is covered by a life insurance policy and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy (currently with Cigna). The employee will be enrolled for a death benefit equal to 1x salary up to $50,000.00. Insperity will fully fund the premiums for this benefit. Employees have the option to purchase voluntary supplemental life insurance.

Employees begin to accrue PTO (vacation, sick, and personal days) on the first day of employment. All regular full time employees are provided with PTO. Upon initial eligibility, the employee will accrue leave at the rate of 120 hours of PTO (3 weeks) each year for the first three years of service and 160 hours per year thereafter.

Other Considerations
° All PTO balances will reset with the calendar year regardless of the date of hire.

Ventura provides training through participation in seminars and conferences, virtual training via Lynda.com & Skillsoft, on-line competency and skill courses, purchase of books, software and memberships in professional organizations on a pre-approved, job-related basis.
