This effort provides needed assistance to the US Army Cadet Command to aid in recruiting,
administration, training, and eventual commissioning of cadets though participating colleges, institutes and universities.

 IPv6 Transition Engineer SME

Description
The Ventura Group is looking for mid and senior level Network/Systems/Application Engineers with IPv6 transitional and/or operational experience. The candidate must have previous Telecom and/or IT industry experience.
Responsibilities will include:
Working with other team members to support federal IPv6 transition activities.
Developing plans for federal agencies to transition to IPv6.
Developing, analyzing and implementing technical approaches for IPv6 transition.
Providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems transition to IPv6.
Performing system-level IPv6 design and configuration of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications.
Planning large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
Conducting quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
Input to policy level discussions regarding IPv6, standards and budget constraints.

Bachelors Degree
Federal experience a plus

- Design, build, and implementation of IPv6 network systems
- VPN, Citrix, virtual desktops, Telework, network assessment
- Conformance testing, performance testing, USGv6 Testing, Interoperability testing
- Cloud computing, VMWare, virtualization, Health-IT
- IPv6 Application Transition, best practices, application scanning tools
- Architect roles in the planning and design of clouds- and VPN-based solutions for large enterprise
- SME in internetworking: protocols, architectures, infrastructure (IPv4/v6, DHCP, DNS, DMZ, clouds internet, virtual networks, remote access and VPN, tethered solutions)
- IPv4/v6 fluency in: address management: v4 and v6 addressing schema, address management (IPAM) – policies and tools, transition methods: dual-stack, tunneling, translation mechanisms
- Participation in an IPv6 Transition task force (thought/team leadership desired)
- ‘Best practices’ guru in the above areas, capable to influence peers and above
