Accountant
Duties:
You will perform a variety of related duties accounting to the implementation of Transformation Installation Management
financial policy, procedures and systems. You will be responsible for accounting system Operations of financial automated
systems (i.e., Database Commitment Accounting System (dCAS) and Program Budget Accounting System (PBAS)). You will provide
policy and/or guidance to all Army activities regarding the implementation and interpretation of FMS financial and accounting
laws, regulations and procedures. You will provide to Army activities, dCAS obligation data, financial data and statistical
analysis of financial and accounting systems information using software such as Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Power Point), dBASE, TELNET, and the INTERNET.
This position is located in the Headquarters, Department of the Army, Assistant Chief of Staff for
Installation Management, Installation Management Command (IMCOM), 2530 Crystal Drive,
Taylor Building, Arlington, VA. (Mailing address is 2511 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22202-3926.)
This job provides the opportunity to learn how an Army Headquarters staff office operates, how to deal with
competing priorities, and how to apply the corporate approach to improve programs and methods of operation.
This is a busy office that supports senior Army leaders, including senior executive service, general officers, and political appointees.
Requirements:
Degree: Accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that
included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business
law. OR Combination of education and experience--at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of
accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
Candidates for this
job must show in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience in the following:
- 1) Skill in developing and refining accounting systems to solve problems associated with maintaining accounting systems.
- 2) Knowledge and skill in a wide variety of funding programs.
- 3) Knowledge of the theory, concepts and prces of accounting.
